Made for form uploads

Exam and government portals are strict: many Indian forms (SSC, UPSC, railways, banking) want a photo between 20KB and 100KB and a signature between 10KB and 50KB. Job portals, visa forms and college applications have their own limits. This tool exists for exactly that moment: you know the number, you need the photo under it, and you don't want your ID photo on a random server.

How it gets there: the tool first lowers image quality in steps; if that alone can't reach your limit, it reduces pixel dimensions and tries again - up to ten rounds. The result note tells you plainly what happened: the final size, and whether dimensions were reduced to get there.

One honest warning: some forms also demand exact pixel dimensions (for example 200x230) or a minimum file size. This tool targets the KB limit only - check your form's full rules before submitting.

Questions

How do I compress a photo to exactly 50KB or 20KB?+
Drop your photo, tap the 20KB or 50KB button (or type your own limit), and press Compress. The tool first lowers image quality, then reduces pixel dimensions if needed, until the file fits under your limit - and tells you exactly what it did.
Which KB size do exam and government forms usually need?+
It varies by form. Many Indian exam and government portals (SSC, UPSC, railways, banks) ask for photos between 20KB and 100KB, and signatures between 10KB and 50KB - but always read your form's own instructions, because some also demand exact pixel dimensions, which this tool does not set.
Will a 20KB photo look bad?+
Small targets mean real trade-offs. At 20KB the tool usually has to reduce pixel dimensions, so fine detail softens. For a passport-style photo on a form this is normally acceptable; for printing, use a bigger limit. The result note always tells you if dimensions were reduced.
What if my photo can't reach the limit?+
Very detailed photos sometimes can't reach an extreme limit like 20KB at usable quality. In that case you get the smallest size the tool could reach, with a clear note that the limit was not met - never a silent failure.
Does my photo get uploaded?+
No. Everything happens in this browser tab. Your photo never leaves your device - important for ID and exam photos.
