HOW IT WORKS
1

Drop the video

It is read by your browser, never sent anywhere.

2

Pick a preset

Smallest for chat and email, Balanced for everyday use, Light when quality comes first.

3

Download

If the export is smaller, it downloads to your device. Check its format and playback.

Why compress a video here

Most online compressors make you upload the video to their server first - slow for big files, and your footage sits on someone else's machine. EverywhereTrade re-encodes the video with open codecs running inside this tab, so a 1 GB file never crosses the internet at all. The engine has a 2 GB input limit, and device memory can fail below that.

Chat apps, email and upload forms have different size limits. Read the current limit at your destination. The presets do not guarantee a particular file size.

Questions

Does the video get uploaded anywhere?+
No. The compression runs in this browser tab with open codecs. Your video never leaves your device - you can even go offline after the page loads and it still works.
How much smaller will my video get?+
A smaller result is not guaranteed. The tool compares output size and offers no download when the result is not smaller. The amount and visible quality depend on source encoding and the selected preset.
Which preset should I use for WhatsApp or email?+
Start with the smallest preset if file size is the priority, then check picture and audio. It does not target an exact MB limit. Check the current limit in the receiving app or portal; use a shorter clip if necessary.
What formats can I compress?+
MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM and AVI can be selected. The compressor uses the general engine and retains the input extension; WebM follows a separate fixed VP8 path. Playback and success depend on the codecs and device, so inspect the actual result.
Is there a file size limit?+
The engine rejects files over 2 GB. Browser memory can run out well below that, especially on phones. First use needs the audio/video engine download (about 30 MB); load it online before relying on offline processing.
