HOW IT WORKS
1

Drop the webp image

Drag your WEBP in or click to browse. It is decoded on your device, not uploaded.

2

Convert to PNG

The image is re-encoded as PNG in this tab, at full resolution.

3

Save it

The PNG downloads back to your device immediately.

Why convert here, not there

No upload, ever

Your pictures stay on your machine. Only the format changes: webp in, png out.

Local conversion

No upload, no server queue, no waiting room. Instant, every time.

No account, no daily cap

No caps and no watermarks - the png is clean and yours.

The two formats, briefly

WEBPWebP supports lossy and lossless images, transparency and animation. This page exports one browser-decoded image, not an animation or metadata archive.
PNGPNG stores raster pixels with lossless compression and supports transparency. A decoded PNG export is not a copy of all source metadata or animation.

When you need this

  • Export the decoded WEBP image as PNG for an editor or upload form that accepts PNG. Transparency can be retained where the decoded image has it, but metadata and animation are not preserved.

Good to know

  • PNG encoding does not use a quality slider. It stores the browser-decoded raster, not every feature of the source file. Metadata, animation and higher-precision color handling may change.
  • Check the exported image at its actual size and compare its file size before submitting it. The original file is not modified.

WEBP to PNG, answered

Why convert WEBP to PNG?+
Export the decoded WEBP image as PNG for an editor or upload form that accepts PNG. Transparency can be retained where the decoded image has it, but metadata and animation are not preserved.
Which quality should I pick?+
PNG encoding does not use a quality slider. It stores the browser-decoded raster, not every feature of the source file. Metadata, animation and higher-precision color handling may change.
Does converting WEBP to PNG lose quality?+
PNG losslessly stores the decoded raster, not the entire source file. Metadata and animation are not kept, and decoding can change color handling or precision. SVG paths become pixels; TIFF contributes its first image.
Is there a file size limit?+
The hard cap is 2 GB per file. The practical limit is your device: conversion runs in its memory, so very large files can fail on phones with little free RAM. There is no server-side cap because nothing is uploaded.
Does my file get uploaded anywhere?+
No. The file is read and converted by code running in this browser tab. Your file is never sent to a server - its contents stay in this tab.
