Questions

Can I resize to a size limit, like 20 KB?+
Yes. Type the maximum size in KB and the tool lowers quality first, then pixel dimensions if you have not fixed them, until the file fits under it. If you set exact width and height yourself, those stay as you chose and only quality is lowered - if the limit is still unreachable, you get the smallest size it could reach with a note saying so. To reach small limits the file may be saved as WebP instead of PNG - the download name shows the format.
Does resizing lose quality?+
Resizing resamples pixels, so reducing dimensions can remove fine detail and enlarging cannot recover missing detail. Re-encoding JPG or WebP can add loss. Inspect the downloaded image at its actual size.
Which formats work?+
JPG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC, AVIF, TIFF, GIF (first frame). Downloads in the original format when the browser can write it, otherwise PNG.
