HOW IT WORKS
1

Drop the aac file

Drag your AAC onto the page or click to browse. It is read locally, never sent anywhere.

2

Choose WAV

WAV output is always 16-bit PCM, so there is no quality or bitrate menu. Click Convert to start processing in this tab.

3

Save the wav

The finished WAV downloads straight back to your device. Nothing touched a server on the way.

Why convert here, not there

No upload, ever

Your aac file is decoded and re-encoded by code in this tab - a song, a memo, a podcast never leaves the device.

Local conversion

No upload time for a big aac file, no server queue, no waiting on a download link.

No account, no daily cap

No daily caps, no "3 conversions left", no email wall. Convert the whole aac library.

The two formats, briefly

AACAAC is a lossy audio codec. This page writes a standalone AAC file using the selected bitrate.
WAVWAV is a container commonly used for PCM audio. This converter writes 16-bit PCM; the source sample rate and channels are not deliberately changed.

When you need this

  • Decode AAC for an editor or workflow that asks for WAV PCM audio. This output is 16-bit, not an enhancement of the original recording, and can be much larger than compressed audio.

Good to know

  • WAV output here is 16-bit PCM. There is no bitrate choice; converting a higher-bit-depth source can reduce precision.
  • First use downloads the audio/video engine (about 30 MB). The input cap is 2 GB, but available browser memory can run out below that.

AAC to WAV, answered

Why convert AAC to WAV?+
Decode AAC for an editor or workflow that asks for WAV PCM audio. This output is 16-bit, not an enhancement of the original recording, and can be much larger than compressed audio.
Which quality should I pick?+
WAV output here is 16-bit PCM. There is no bitrate choice; converting a higher-bit-depth source can reduce precision.
Does converting AAC to WAV lose quality?+
The export uses 16-bit PCM. It cannot recover detail already lost in a compressed source, and a higher-bit-depth source is reduced to 16-bit. Keep the original if precision matters.
Is there a file size limit?+
The hard cap is 2 GB per file. The practical limit is your device: conversion runs in its memory, so very large files can fail on phones with little free RAM. There is no server-side cap because nothing is uploaded.
Does my file get uploaded anywhere?+
No. EverywhereTrade has no server that receives files - the conversion code downloads once and runs entirely in this tab.
