Convert OGG to WAV
Convert OGG to WAV on your device. Choose your file, convert, and check the result before sharing.
Drop the ogg file
Drag your OGG onto the page or click to browse. It is read locally, never sent anywhere.
Choose WAV
WAV output is always 16-bit PCM, so there is no quality or bitrate menu. Click Convert to start processing in this tab.
Save the wav
The finished WAV downloads straight back to your device. Nothing touched a server on the way.
Why convert here, not there
No upload, ever
Audio files are personal. OGG to WAV here happens inside one browser tab, end to end.
Local conversion
Conversion runs locally after you click Convert. The first audio or video conversion may need to download the converter engine.
No account, no daily cap
No account or daily conversion quota. The per-file cap is 2 GB, and available device memory can impose a lower practical limit.
The two formats, briefly
| OGG | OGG is a container. This converter writes Vorbis audio at a fixed quality setting, not Opus. | |
|---|---|---|
| WAV | WAV is a container commonly used for PCM audio. This converter writes 16-bit PCM; the source sample rate and channels are not deliberately changed. | |
When you need this
- Decode OGG for an editor or workflow that asks for WAV PCM audio. This output is 16-bit, not an enhancement of the original recording, and can be much larger than compressed audio.
OGG vs WAV: what changes
| OGG | WAV | |
|---|---|---|
| Kind | Audio | Audio |
| Compression | Vorbis audio output here | 16-bit PCM output here |
| Typical size | Depends on the file and encoding settings. | Measure the exported file; it may be larger. |
| Opens on | Check the source in your app and browser. | Check the downloaded file in the receiving app. |
| Best for | Keep the original as your source. | WAV workflows, subject to the limits below. |
Keep the original. Compare the exported file before sharing or replacing it.
Good to know
- WAV output here is 16-bit PCM. There is no bitrate choice; converting a higher-bit-depth source can reduce precision.
- First use downloads the audio/video engine (about 30 MB). The input cap is 2 GB, but available browser memory can run out below that.
