HOW IT WORKS
1

Drop the aac file

Drag your AAC onto the page or click to browse. It is read locally, never sent anywhere.

2

Choose OGG

OGG uses one fixed Vorbis quality setting (about 160 kbps in our test), so there is no bitrate menu. Click Convert to start processing in this tab.

3

Save the ogg

The finished OGG downloads straight back to your device. Nothing touched a server on the way.

Why convert here, not there

No upload, ever

Your aac file is decoded and re-encoded by code in this tab - a song, a memo, a podcast never leaves the device.

Local conversion

No upload time for a big aac file, no server queue, no waiting on a download link.

No account, no daily cap

No daily caps, no "3 conversions left", no email wall. Convert the whole aac library.

The two formats, briefly

AACAAC is a lossy audio codec. This page writes a standalone AAC file using the selected bitrate.
OGGOGG is a container. This converter writes Vorbis audio at a fixed quality setting, not Opus.

When you need this

  • Use OGG when your receiving app or player does not accept AAC. This page re-encodes the audio, so keep the original and check the download in that app before replacing it.

Good to know

  • The encoder uses fixed Vorbis quality 5. The bitrate varies with the audio; a quality menu does not select a fixed bitrate for this path.
  • First use downloads the audio/video engine (about 30 MB). The input cap is 2 GB, but available browser memory can run out below that.

AAC to OGG, answered

Why convert AAC to OGG?+
Use OGG when your receiving app or player does not accept AAC. This page re-encodes the audio, so keep the original and check the download in that app before replacing it.
Which quality should I pick?+
The encoder uses fixed Vorbis quality 5. The bitrate varies with the audio; a quality menu does not select a fixed bitrate for this path.
Does converting AAC to OGG lose quality?+
This export uses lossy audio encoding. The source AAC may contain different codecs or recording quality; re-encoding cannot improve the original. Compare the result before deleting the source.
Is there a file size limit?+
The hard cap is 2 GB per file. The practical limit is your device: conversion runs in its memory, so very large files can fail on phones with little free RAM. There is no server-side cap because nothing is uploaded.
Does my file get uploaded anywhere?+
No upload, full stop. Everything between dropping the file and downloading the ogg happens in your browser.
