HOW IT WORKS
1

Drop the opus file

Drag your OPUS onto the page or click to browse. It is read locally, never sent anywhere.

2

Choose OGG

OGG uses one fixed Vorbis quality setting (about 160 kbps in our test), so there is no bitrate menu. Click Convert to start processing in this tab.

3

Save the ogg

The finished OGG downloads straight back to your device. Nothing touched a server on the way.

Why convert here, not there

No upload, ever

Server converters receive your opus on their disk. This one reads it in your browser and nowhere else.

Local conversion

The ogg starts encoding the moment you drop the file - there is no upload phase at all.

No account, no daily cap

Convert every opus you own, free. Nobody meters you, nobody asks for an account.

The two formats, briefly

OPUSOPUS is an open audio codec standardized by the IETF in 2012 (RFC 6716), merging Skype’s SILK and Xiph’s CELT. It beats MP3 and AAC at low bitrates, which is why WhatsApp voice notes and Discord calls use it.
OGGOGG is a container. This converter writes Vorbis audio at a fixed quality setting, not Opus.

When you need this

  • Use OGG when your receiving app or player does not accept OPUS. This page re-encodes the audio, so keep the original and check the download in that app before replacing it.

Good to know

  • The encoder uses fixed Vorbis quality 5. The bitrate varies with the audio; a quality menu does not select a fixed bitrate for this path.
  • First use downloads the audio/video engine (about 30 MB). The input cap is 2 GB, but available browser memory can run out below that.

OPUS to OGG, answered

Why convert OPUS to OGG?+
Use OGG when your receiving app or player does not accept OPUS. This page re-encodes the audio, so keep the original and check the download in that app before replacing it.
Which quality should I pick?+
The encoder uses fixed Vorbis quality 5. The bitrate varies with the audio; a quality menu does not select a fixed bitrate for this path.
Does converting OPUS to OGG lose quality?+
This export uses lossy audio encoding. The source OPUS may contain different codecs or recording quality; re-encoding cannot improve the original. Compare the result before deleting the source.
Is there a file size limit?+
The hard cap is 2 GB per file. The practical limit is your device: conversion runs in its memory, so very large files can fail on phones with little free RAM. There is no server-side cap because nothing is uploaded.
Does my file get uploaded anywhere?+
No. The file is read and converted by code running in this browser tab. Your file is never sent to a server - its contents stay in this tab.
