HOW IT WORKS
1

Drop the opus file

Drag your OPUS onto the page or click to browse. It is read locally, never sent anywhere.

2

Choose FLAC

FLAC is lossless, so there is no quality or bitrate menu. Click Convert to start processing in this tab.

3

Save the flac

The finished FLAC downloads straight back to your device. Nothing touched a server on the way.

Why convert here, not there

No upload, ever

Your opus file is decoded and re-encoded by code in this tab - a song, a memo, a podcast never leaves the device.

Local conversion

No upload time for a big opus file, no server queue, no waiting on a download link.

No account, no daily cap

No daily caps, no "3 conversions left", no email wall. Convert the whole opus library.

The two formats, briefly

OPUSOPUS is an open audio codec standardized by the IETF in 2012 (RFC 6716), merging Skype’s SILK and Xiph’s CELT. It beats MP3 and AAC at low bitrates, which is why WhatsApp voice notes and Discord calls use it.
FLACFLAC uses lossless audio compression. Encoding decoded audio as FLAC does not restore detail already lost in a source recording.

When you need this

  • Use FLAC when your player or archive needs losslessly compressed audio. Converting OPUS to FLAC cannot recover detail missing from the source; compare output size rather than assuming it shrinks.

Good to know

  • FLAC uses lossless compression of decoded audio. There is no bitrate choice, and lossy source detail cannot be recovered.
  • First use downloads the audio/video engine (about 30 MB). The input cap is 2 GB, but available browser memory can run out below that.

OPUS to FLAC, answered

Why convert OPUS to FLAC?+
Use FLAC when your player or archive needs losslessly compressed audio. Converting OPUS to FLAC cannot recover detail missing from the source; compare output size rather than assuming it shrinks.
Which quality should I pick?+
FLAC uses lossless compression of decoded audio. There is no bitrate choice, and lossy source detail cannot be recovered.
Does converting OPUS to FLAC lose quality?+
FLAC losslessly encodes decoded audio, but decoding and supported sample precision still matter. It cannot restore missing detail, preserve the video picture, or promise every source track and metadata field survives.
Is there a file size limit?+
The hard cap is 2 GB per file. The practical limit is your device: conversion runs in its memory, so very large files can fail on phones with little free RAM. There is no server-side cap because nothing is uploaded.
Does my file get uploaded anywhere?+
No. The file is read and converted by code running in this browser tab. Your file is never sent to a server - its contents stay in this tab.
