Processed on your device - nothing is uploaded.
HOW IT WORKS
1
Drop the wav file
Drag your WAV onto the page or click to browse. It is read locally, never sent anywhere.
2
Choose AAC and bitrate
Pick 128, 192, 256 or 320 kbps. 192 kbps is the default. Click Convert to start processing in this tab.
3
Save the aac
The finished AAC downloads straight back to your device. Nothing touched a server on the way.
Why convert here, not there
No upload, ever
Your wav file is decoded and re-encoded by code in this tab - a song, a memo, a podcast never leaves the device.
Local conversion
No upload time for a big wav file, no server queue, no waiting on a download link.
No account, no daily cap
No daily caps, no "3 conversions left", no email wall. Convert the whole wav library.
The two formats, briefly
| WAV | WAV is a container commonly used for PCM audio. This converter writes 16-bit PCM; the source sample rate and channels are not deliberately changed. | |
|---|---|---|
| AAC | AAC is a lossy audio codec. This page writes a standalone AAC file using the selected bitrate. | |
When you need this
- Use AAC when your receiving app or player does not accept WAV. This page re-encodes the audio, so keep the original and check the download in that app before replacing it.
WAV vs AAC: what changes
| WAV | AAC | |
|---|---|---|
| Kind | Audio | Audio |
| Compression | 16-bit PCM output here | Lossy AAC audio |
| Typical size | Depends on the file and encoding settings. | Measure the exported file; it may be larger. |
| Opens on | Check the source in your app and browser. | Check the downloaded file in the receiving app. |
| Best for | Keep the original as your source. | AAC workflows, subject to the limits below. |
Keep the original. Compare the exported file before sharing or replacing it.
Good to know
- The audio bitrate choices are 128, 192, 256 and 320 kbps, with 192 kbps as the default. Lower bitrates usually reduce size but can make loss more audible.
- First use downloads the audio/video engine (about 30 MB). The input cap is 2 GB, but available browser memory can run out below that.
WAV to AAC, answered
Why convert WAV to AAC?+
Use AAC when your receiving app or player does not accept WAV. This page re-encodes the audio, so keep the original and check the download in that app before replacing it.
Which quality should I pick?+
The audio bitrate choices are 128, 192, 256 and 320 kbps, with 192 kbps as the default. Lower bitrates usually reduce size but can make loss more audible.
Does converting WAV to AAC lose quality?+
This export uses lossy audio encoding. The source WAV may contain different codecs or recording quality; re-encoding cannot improve the original. Compare the result before deleting the source.
Is there a file size limit?+
The hard cap is 2 GB per file. The practical limit is your device: conversion runs in its memory, so very large files can fail on phones with little free RAM. There is no server-side cap because nothing is uploaded.
Does my file get uploaded anywhere?+
No. EverywhereTrade has no server that receives files - the conversion code downloads once and runs entirely in this tab.
