Convert AIFF to OGG
Convert AIFF to OGG on your device. Choose your file, convert, and check the result before sharing.
Drop the aiff file
Drag your AIFF onto the page or click to browse. It is read locally, never sent anywhere.
Choose OGG
OGG uses one fixed Vorbis quality setting (about 160 kbps in our test), so there is no bitrate menu. Click Convert to start processing in this tab.
Save the ogg
The finished OGG downloads straight back to your device. Nothing touched a server on the way.
Why convert here, not there
No upload, ever
Audio files are personal. AIFF to OGG here happens inside one browser tab, end to end.
Local conversion
Conversion runs locally after you click Convert. The first audio or video conversion may need to download the converter engine.
No account, no daily cap
No account or daily conversion quota. The per-file cap is 2 GB, and available device memory can impose a lower practical limit.
The two formats, briefly
| AIFF | AIFF is an audio container. This converter writes 16-bit PCM audio; a higher-bit-depth source can lose precision. | |
|---|---|---|
| OGG | OGG is a container. This converter writes Vorbis audio at a fixed quality setting, not Opus. | |
When you need this
- Use OGG when your receiving app or player does not accept AIFF. This page re-encodes the audio, so keep the original and check the download in that app before replacing it.
AIFF vs OGG: what changes
| AIFF | OGG | |
|---|---|---|
| Kind | Audio | Audio |
| Compression | 16-bit PCM output here | Vorbis audio output here |
| Typical size | Depends on the file and encoding settings. | Measure the exported file; it may be larger. |
| Opens on | Check the source in your app and browser. | Check the downloaded file in the receiving app. |
| Best for | Keep the original as your source. | OGG workflows, subject to the limits below. |
Keep the original. Compare the exported file before sharing or replacing it.
Good to know
- The encoder uses fixed Vorbis quality 5. The bitrate varies with the audio; a quality menu does not select a fixed bitrate for this path.
- First use downloads the audio/video engine (about 30 MB). The input cap is 2 GB, but available browser memory can run out below that.
