Questions

What metadata gets removed?+
For images, a fresh raster export discards source EXIF and other embedded metadata. Audio and video use FFmpeg with map_metadata -1 and stream copying. This is not a forensic privacy guarantee: inspect the output before sharing sensitive material.
Does it change the image?+
Images are decoded and re-encoded. JPG and WebP output can lose detail; unsupported image formats save as PNG. Animation and some color handling can change, so inspect the result and keep the original.
Why strip before sharing?+
A single photo can reveal where you live, work, and when you were there. Social apps strip some of it; many messengers and forums do not.
