HOW IT WORKS
1

Drop the mov video

Drag the MOV file in. Your browser reads it locally - its contents stay on your device.

2

Pick OGG

The audio track is extracted and encoded as OGG right here.

3

Download the audio

Your OGG saves to your device, ready for any player.

Why convert here, not there

No upload, ever

The mov never touches a server; its soundtrack becomes a ogg inside this tab.

Local conversion

There is no file-upload step. Click Convert to extract audio after the converter engine has loaded.

No account, no daily cap

No per-day limit, no account, no watermark on your ogg.

The two formats, briefly

MOVMOV is a container used by cameras and editing software. The codecs inside it determine how it can be decoded and played.
OGGOGG is a container. This converter writes Vorbis audio at a fixed quality setting, not Opus.

When you need this

  • Extract the soundtrack from a MOV video for an audio-only workflow that accepts OGG. This does not keep the picture. A video with no audio track cannot produce meaningful audio.

Good to know

  • The encoder uses fixed Vorbis quality 5. The bitrate varies with the audio; a quality menu does not select a fixed bitrate for this path.
  • First use downloads the audio/video engine (about 30 MB). The input cap is 2 GB, but available browser memory can run out below that.

MOV to OGG, answered

Why convert MOV to OGG?+
Extract the soundtrack from a MOV video for an audio-only workflow that accepts OGG. This does not keep the picture. A video with no audio track cannot produce meaningful audio.
Which quality should I pick?+
The encoder uses fixed Vorbis quality 5. The bitrate varies with the audio; a quality menu does not select a fixed bitrate for this path.
Does converting MOV to OGG lose quality?+
This export uses lossy audio encoding. The source MOV may contain different codecs or recording quality; re-encoding cannot improve the original. Compare the result before deleting the source.
Is there a file size limit?+
The hard cap is 2 GB per file. The practical limit is your device: conversion runs in its memory, so very large files can fail on phones with little free RAM. There is no server-side cap because nothing is uploaded.
Does my file get uploaded anywhere?+
Never. Your mov file stays inside this tab; the ogg is produced by code on your device. Its contents never leave your device.
