JPG to SVG
Turn a JPG image into a vector SVG - sharp at any size, editable in any vector app.
Runs on your device - nothing is uploaded.
HOW IT WORKS
1
Pick your JPG
A logo, icon, sticker or other flat artwork gives the cleanest trace. The image is read in this tab and never uploaded.
2
Tune the trace
The vector preview updates as you change color detail, smoothing and the speckle filter - watch it instead of guessing.
3
Download the SVG
A real vector file you can scale to a billboard, edit in Inkscape or Figma, or import into a cutting app.
JPEG artifacts show up as texture
JPG compression adds faint speckling around edges, and the tracer will faithfully turn that texture into shapes. If the result looks noisy, raise the speckle filter one or two steps and drop Color detail to 4-5. If you have the same artwork as a PNG, use that instead - PNG edges are cleaner and trace better.
What it will not do
- Turn a photo into a perfect vector copy. Tracing groups colors into shapes, so photos come out stylised, not photographic.
- Guarantee cut-ready files for every machine. The output is standard layered SVG, but we have not verified every cutter app.
- Keep every pixel of a noisy image. Tiny specks are filtered out on purpose - lower the filter if you need them.
- Recover detail the JPG does not have. A blurry source remains a blurry-looking trace; it cannot invent missing edges.
Questions
Will the SVG look exactly like my image?+
For logos, icons and flat artwork it gets very close. Photos turn into a stylised, poster-like vector - the tracer groups colors into shapes, it cannot recreate fine photographic detail. Raise 'Color detail' for a closer match at the cost of a bigger file.
Is this SVG ready for a cutting machine (Cricut, Silhouette, laser)?+
The download is a standard SVG with layered paths, which is the format cutting apps import. We have not tested it in every cutter app - import it, check the layers, and tell us if your app rejects it.
Why does my result have fewer colors than the original?+
That is how vector tracing works: nearby colors merge into one shape so the lines stay clean. Increase 'Color detail' to keep more colors, or lower the speckle filter to keep tiny elements.
Is there a size limit?+
Very large images are scaled down to 1600 px before tracing so phones do not stall - the SVG is vector, so it still scales up cleanly. Images above roughly 25 megapixels are refused with a message instead of freezing the tab.
Does the image leave my device?+
No. Tracing runs in your browser with a small WebAssembly engine (VTracer, MIT license). Nothing is uploaded.
