Does my image get uploaded?+
No. The OCR engine runs inside your browser on your own device. The image never leaves your phone or laptop, and nothing is stored anywhere else.
Which text works best?+
Clear printed text: documents, books, signs, screenshots. Handwriting and stylized fonts are much harder for any OCR and will often come out wrong.
Why is the first run slow?+
The first use downloads the OCR engine to your device (about 29 MB for the base text-finding and language models plus runtime, with an additional ~8 MB Hindi accuracy model downloaded only when a Hindi text region is found). Later runs reuse the cached copy and start faster.
Is the text always perfect?+
No OCR is. Blurry photos, low contrast, tilted pages and decorative fonts reduce accuracy. Always read the result before relying on it.
